ORPHAN VOICE INTERNATIONAL - SUMMARY OF PROPOSAL

GoodNews Mission Orphan homes in Vishakapatnam, India (impacted by tsunamis in December 2004) are needing continuing funding for food and ongoing expenses. Of particular importance is the construction of new dorms and cafeterias, and the rebuilding of the homes devastated by the tsunami. Currently there is a stated need of $8,000 a month for general expenses (food purchases and care of the children); $15,000 to complete the construction of the roof on the new dorms and rebuilding of existing dorms; and $35,000 to purchase the field behind the Tuni

Rick and Janet Norquist in Mazatlan Mexico currently have 15 special needs children in their orphanage and are needing to build additional dorms for the 3-5 children that are expected to come in the next 2-3 weeks. The anticipated cost of construction materials is $8,200 plus the added monthly budget increase of $800-1000 to cover the extra food and support staff. DONATE NOW

Stansberry Children’s Home in Santa Cruz, Bolivia currently has 30 children in residence, and provides no cost/low cost day care for 80 children for impoverished families in the area. In addition, they have an urgent waiting list that has about 40-60 children. The day care facilities are currently built to accommodate 60 children, but the staff is working now in shifts to better care for the children. However, there is a great need to finish 4 classrooms and a multi-purpose room in mid-phase of construction which will require $30,000 to complete the roof, plumbing, doors and windows. They also need to finish the dining room for the children at a cost of $15,000. DONATE NOW

Sam and Julie Hawkins in San Salvador have seen the work expand tremendously in the last year with moving to the new, larger facility. They are now caring for 150 children a year, up over 30 infants from last year.

Randi Todd cares for high risk babies in Portland, Oregon, and currently has 6 children in her home. She is needing additional support during the day with feeding and nursing as well as
additional funding to cover food, and operating expenses for the home. We are seeking support of $1,000 a month to subsidize her work. DONATE NOW

Judy Kennedy directs a single parent group through her church that teaches parenting skills, financial accountability, and enlists volunteer mentors to come alongside the families. Currently,
there are 2 families in the group in crisis, and need housing. For short term crisis housing and utilities while the families get stabelized, she is needing $1,800 a month. Additionally, she is
needing funding to help with other crisis needs for the families, which amount to about $1,500 a month. DONATE NOW
