T he GoodNews Mission Orphanages have four orphan homes, with a fifth under construction. Dr. Theodore Wesley and his staff direct and care for these homes and children. The homes are all located along the eastern coast of India in the towns of Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Tuni, and Kakinada in the district of Andhra Pradesh. (Photos of the Orphan work on photo page 3)

The largest of the orphan homes is located in Tuni, and cares for 200 children full time, and about 40 are bussed in daily from the slums and dumps for care. The children that come in may or may not have a home and a parent(s). In a given week, there will be as many as 100 or more bussed in. An additional home is under construction in Tuni to take in about 40 children. All of the children are clothed, fed regular meals, and receive schooling on the mission grounds. The Tuni orphanage is directed by Joship Paul. There is a field adjacent to the orphanage that GoodNews wishes to purchase for rice production to replace their current supply and purchases.

The entire work is administered by Dr. Wesley, who also directs the orphanage in Visakhapatnam. This home cares for 15 children as residents, and daily busses in street children from the slums and dumps (usually about 40 a day, not always the same children).

The home in SriKakulam is directed by Titus, and cares for 15 children full time. And the home in Kakinada is directed by Kuma Raju, and has 15 children full time.

The homes in Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, and Tuni have their own schools for the children, while in Kakinada, the children are sent to a local school. The educations the children receive in many cases will raise their caste level in society.

The orphaned children in these countries are needing your help and support now more than ever.

THERE ARE TIMES IN OUR LIVES WHEN WE MUST SACRIFICE FOR THE NEEDS OF OTHERS IN GREAT DISTRESS!   The world stands at the door with aid, but the orphans are the last in line.  Please give to help these children.  Let us show the world what kind of compassionate and generous people we are!  Give deeply and generously.
